In this Blog post I would like to discuss my experiences in PED 266 this semester. Overall I think this class was very beneficial for my future career. I learned a great deal about different computer applications. I not only learned some programs I had already used more indepth, but I also learned a few applications of which I had never heard. Each assignment we did and each computer application we used was benefical in some way to me and my future career.
One of the most beneficial assignments to me was using Skillport. By using it I learned many new skills on each microsoft office program to make them more useful and efficent for me. I use these programs the most in my daily life and will mostly likely continue to use them the most the rest of my life, so it was very helpful for me to learn new skills and different, more efficent ways to use them.
Another very useful assignement we completed in PED 266 this semester was our Plan/Presentation. This project at first was very confusing. Our group was lost as to what exactly we were supposed to be accomplishing. Once we figured it all out though, it was an extremely relevant, beneficial project. Not only did we learn to use many new computer applications, we were also able to get involved in the community and promote something we felt passionate about. We were able to pick a topic we were interested in and try to benefit others in the community with our project. Though my group was unable to make an impact of truely get involved with an organization, I still learned a great deal and was overall benefitted from the project.
In PED 266 this semester we discussed many issues involved with technology and health and exersice. We learned about and how to use many new computer applications as well as expanded our knowledge and skills on some we had already used. Overall I think the class was very benficial and anyone going into any type of health related field should take the class.

Hey!
In this blog I would like to discuss one of my options for graduate school after I finish here at UNCW. Originally I had planned to attend Physical Therapy school and have been working towards that for the past few years. Recently in one of my classes we had a guest speaker who was a Physicians Assistant and I became very interested in that career path. I am now considering both careers and preparing myself by having the prerequisites for each graduate school. I became interested in PA school after learning it only required 2 years of post graduate study, which is one year less than PT School. I had always thought it required much more schooling. I was also interested when I learned the variety of settings one could work in once passing the national PA certification exam. One is not required to have any specialized training for each field, one only needs the national certification. This really sparked my interest since I am the type of individual who does not like to be doing the same thing for a long period of time. I like to have variety in my life and especially in my career. I have been researching the career mostly on the American Academy of Physicians Assistant website (http://www.aapa.org/) , and each school who offers the programs respective websites. I am very excited to learn more about this career path and maybe one day entering it. Thanks for listening!

Hey,this is Sydney, Erika and Erin's plan to make students more aware of the group exercise classes at the Rec Center at UNCW. We also want to find out the reasons for students attending and not attending the classes. As well as ways to make them more useful to students.
Plan Project:
Idea: Group exercise classes at recreation center
Computer Assignments:
- Create Blog about dislikes and likes about the group exercise classes (groupexerciseuncw.blogspot.com)
- Research classes on the UNCW website and the advantages of group exercise.
- Make a better schedule for students on spreadsheet, with most popular classes at more accessible times.
- Power point presentation on the different classes offered and there benefits.
